About Grace

Everyone in my family comes from different places -- my dad's grandmas are from Italy, my mom's family is originally from Ireland and Germany. And.....my great, great, great, great, great, great, great uncle is Daniel Boone. My mom grew up in Cleveland and my dad grew up in Boston. Me and my brother and sister are the only ones from California!

I am a very daring and adventurous girl -- I love to ride my bike off a two-stair, climb trees, and I like to ride the most spirited horses.

I have been playing violin for over 2 years and my biggest accomplishment is learning my nightmare piece ... called Minuet 1! I will always remember struggling through it.

I'd like to continue to be in an orchestra through Elementary School, Middle School, and High School.

When I'm in college, I want to study in Italy and learn Italian. Singing is something I love and I want to be in plays when I grow up.

Hobbies

My hobbies are art, reading, horseback riding, softball, singing, acting, and dancing. I really like to watch the Dodger games with my dad. My favorite movies are High School Musical, Sound of Music and Mary Poppins.

Question of the Month

What are your most creative and successful practice strategies?

I start with practicing scales. Then I tackle the most difficult parts of my pieces first and end with the easy stuff.

Favorite Songs to Play

The composers I like best are Handel and Bach. The songs that I play by them are fun to play. My favorite piece to play now is "Elegy and Dance" by RIchard Meyer and I'm playing that in the South Pasadena elementary strings orchestra.
